WilliePearl Coney Jones

Mrs. WilliePearl Coney-Jones was born on April 29, 1956, in Carol City, Miami, FL, to the late Idella King-Coney and Ira Willie Coney. She passed away peacefully at the Emanuel County Health Center in Swainsboro, GA. 

As a young girl, her family relocated to Portal, GA, where she later graduated from Portal High School.  WilliePearl worked on her family's farm for many years before they moved to Metter, GA. There, she dedicated many years to Crider Poultry before discovering her passion for nursing. She served with compassion at Pleasant View Nursing Center until she became disabled, during which time she met the love of her life, Deacon James Jones. WilliePearl was a cherished Tremont Temple Missionary Baptist Church member, where she sang in the senior choir for many years. After her marriage, she became an active member of Cooper Grove Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and caregiver. 

WilliePearl was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Willie, and Idella King-Coney; her sisters, Rose Marie Coney and Della Mae Coney; her brothers, Willie Arthur Coney, Steve Elton Coney, and James Ira Coney; and her stepdaughter, Tosha Jones. 

She is survived by her beloved husband, James Jones of Twin City, GA; her children, Antonio Coney and Chenon Martisse Mikell, both of Metter, GA; her stepson, Ronald Jones (Melody) of Twin City, GA; her grandchildren, Antwan Martise Coney of Metter, GA; Arrion Peyton Coney of Maryland, Kensley Brielle Mikell of Metter, GA; and Mariah, Malyian, and Maranda Jones, all of Twin City, GA; her great-granddaughter, Arieonna Malaya Coney of Statesboro, GA. She is also survived by her siblings, Jewel Shipment (Willie) of Register, GA; Betty Ann Lanier, Tony Coney, both of Metter, GA; Leo Coney of Maine, Mary Ann Addison (Curtis), Gwen Coney, and Theolus Levern Coney, all of Statesboro, GA; Willie Coney (Minnie) of Collins, GA; Randy Coney (Michelle), Vine Lee Coney, both of Metter, GA; and Issac Coney of Blackshear, GA; Her aunts and uncles, Queenie Jameson (Leon) of Metter, GA; Josie Smith of Miami, FL; and Leo Coney (Trish) of Homestead, FL; and also a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends mourns her passing. 

WilliePearl's warmth, dedication, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

Public viewing for Mrs. WilliePearl Jones will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 1 PM to 5 PM at the funeral home. The family will receive guests for the family visitation from 5 PM to 7 PM.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Jones will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 4, 2024, at the Open Door Worship Center, 9070 Oak Tree Rd, Metter, GA 30439 with Pastor Demones Kelly, officiating.

Burial will follow at the Mercer Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 5743 Mercer Church Road, Metter, GA 30439. 

Pallbearers will be Darrell Coney, Tyrone Clark, James Coney, Laquan Jordan, Ericton Coney and Edward Jordan
