Matthew H. Lovett & Son’s Funeral Home announces the passing of Mr. Timothy Dewayne Rawls, age 49, of Statesboro. Mr. Rawls passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, at his residence after a brief illness. He was under the compassionate care of Regency Southern Care Hospice.

Timothy Dewayne Rawls was born in Statesboro, Georgia, on May 3, 1975, to his parents, the late Mr. Handy Rawls and Annie Dell Rawls. He is preceded in death by his father, the late Handy Rawls, a nephew Altevius Ajunte Anderson, and a niece, Brittany Sneed Mack.

Timothy was a member of the Southeast Bulloch High School class of 1993. Following his graduation, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where he became a member of the Jackson Memorial Baptist Church of Atlanta, Georgia. He was employed with AAF (2019), Paper Company (2023), and Uber and was the Property Owner of his estate. His work ethic was unmeasurable, and his signature quote was, "Your goal should be to make money while you sleep, not while you are on your feet."

Timothy is survived by his loving mother Annie Dell Rawls, 10 siblings, Willie Lee Rawls, Annie Rawls Porter, Barbara Rawls, Cornelia (Victor) Rawls Ojukwu, Gloria (Conrad) Rawls Davis, Cynthia Rawls, Handy Rawls, Sandra (AL) Rawls Anderson, Jerry Rawls, and Arthur Rawls. 

He is also survived by his nephews and nieces, Willie E. Lee, Jr., Jamie (Erica) Porter, Tarik Jackson, AJ Rawls, Vincent Terry, Quincy Rawls, Martavius (Sheena) Anderson, Angela Porter, Chidi Ojukwu, Zoey Ojukwu, Denis Ojukwu, Allisan Anderson, Tahirah Lee, and Laia Rawls, Tina M. (Gary) Lee-Cone, Andria (Greg) Wright; great nephews and nieces Jada Porter, Lauren Porter, Elijah Porter, and Howard Porter; Gary Cone, Jr., Gavin Cone; and great-great nieces and nephew Serenity Wright, Tamia Jackson, Aubrey Jackson, and Gary Cone, III.

Timothy's life and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his loving family and dear friends. 

Funeral services to honor and celebrate Timothy's life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Wardell Rawls, officiating, and Bishop Larry Jones, presiding. Rev. Dr. Richard A. Lawrence, pastor.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be cousins, Harvey Littles, Willie Lee, Jr., Juan Rawls, Leon Mikell, Jerry Mikell and Warren Jacobs
