Matthew H. Lovett & Son’s Funeral Home announces the passing of Mr. Terry McCollum, age 55, of Statesboro. Mr. McCollum passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024.
Terry McCollum was born on August 30, 1968, to the late Roscoe McCollum, Jr. and Juanita Williams McCollum. He joined the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Nevils at an early age where he served as an usher. He was a graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School. He later joined the United States Air Force, serving over 10 years. Terry was passionate about farming and had a strong affinity for working in the trucking industry. He was also a devoted basketball fan who enjoyed fishing, playing spades, cornhole, and video games. Terry had a great sense of humor and the gift of bringing joy and laughter to those around him. He was preceded in death by his father, Roscoe McCollum Jr.
Terry leaves to cherish his memories, his loving mother Juanita Williams McCollum of Brooklet, GA; one sister Teresa (Mark) Myers, three brothers Roscoe McCollum III, Johnny Lee McCollum, and Keith McCollum, all of Nevils, GA; two daughters, Latera and Emmanuel Grimsley of Brooklet, GA; Tierny McCollum of Wisconsin and one son Quinton McCollum of Biloxi, MS; Terry is also survived by five grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A public viewing for Mr. Terry McCollum will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM. The family will receive guests from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Matthew H. Lovett & Son's Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mr. McCollum will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 28, 2024, at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church No. 1, Register, GA with Rev. James Canty, presiding; Rev. Darrell Hart, pastor/officiating.
Final Disposition will be cremation.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Johnson, Daron Johnson, Chris Amica, Jimmie McCollum, Eddie Mincey and Michael Phillips
