Ronnie Wayne Smith was born on August 17, 1961, to his parents the late Lewis and Mary June "May June" Williams in Statesboro, GA. He was a 1979 graduate of Statesboro High School and later attended Valdosta State University. Ronnie had a passion for cooking and was recently employed as a short-order cook for the Waffle House, Inc. restaurant chain in Atlanta, GA where he had been residing for the last 20 years. On Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the age of 62, Ronnie unexpectedly passed away at his home in Doraville, GA.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, the late Mary June and Lewis Williams, a brother, the late Arthur Bernard Smith, a sister, the late Denise Smith, and a great-niece, LaBrittany Davis.
Ronnie's memories will be forever cherished by those he leaves behind, his son, Isadore Bernard (Dawn) Raymond of Statesboro, GA; three grandchildren, Isadore Bernard Raymond, Jr., Collin Neal Love, and Aria Isadora Raymond all of Statesboro, GA; three sisters Miriam Yvette Williams, Angela Letita Williams, and Twala Shantell Williams, all of Statesboro, GA; four brothers, Gregory (Diane) Smith, James Lewis (Iris) Williams, Steve Raynard Williams and Anthony Lundy, all of Statesboro, GA; three aunts, Margaret Hendrix, of Statesboro, GA; Jeanette Harriet and Yvonne Anderson of Philadelphia, PA; a very special friend, Betty Flowers of Doraville, GA; he is also survived by his special close friends, Lamar Lundy, Von Newton, Willie Roberts and Robert Jackson, Jr., Ronnie is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
The Public viewing for Ronnie Wayne Smith will be held Friday, December 22, 2023, from Noon until 6:00 P.M.
The family will be receiving guests for the family visitation from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Matthew H. Lovett & Son's Funeral Home.
Funeral Services for Mr. Smith will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 23, 2023, at the Whitesville Full Gospel Worship Center with the Pastor, Bishop Larry Jones, officiating, and the Rev. Charles Weaver, presiding.
Interment will follow at Eastside Cemetery on Northside Drive, Statesboro, GA.
Pallbearers will be Willie Roberts, Von Newton, Christopher Eason, Kenny Oglesby, Robert Jackson, Jr., and Terry Pryor
