Larry Harrison

Mr. Larry Floyd Harrison, age 63 of Portal, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, January 8, 2023, at his residence. He was born to the late Aaron and Ella Beatrice Burke Harrison and was a lifelong resident of Bulloch County. Larry received his formal education at the former Historic Willow Hill School in Portal, GA. He was an extremely hard worker and loved his lifelong career as a farmer and construction worker. In 2015, Larry suffered a stroke in which he was forced to retire.

On November 26, 2005, Larry was united in holy matrimony to his loving and caring wife, Mrs. Brenda Gail Hagins Harrison.

Larry leaves his memories to forever be cherished by his loving wife, Brenda Gail Hagins Harrison of Portal, GA; his stepdaughter, Demetria (James) Smith of Statesboro, GA; four sisters, Mildred (George) Shipman, Katie (Leonard) Raymond, both of Statesboro, GA; Sylvia Harrison of Reidsville, GA; Annie Lee (James) Mikell of Metter, GA; three brothers, Bob Aaron Harrison, Cleveland Harrison, both of Twin City, GA, Bloyse (Lisa) Harrison of Statesboro, GA; three grandchildren, Brenda Smith of Malboro, NY; J'Kimbe Delane Smith and Kameron Smith and one great granddaughter, Naomi Smith all of Statesboro, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Public viewing for Mr. Harrison will be Friday, January 13, 2023, from 12 Noon until 6:00 PM and family visitation from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Joanna M. Fields visitation room at the Matthew H. Lovett & Son's Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. Larry Floyd Harrison will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 1:00PM at the New Beginning Community Fellowship Ministries in Portal, GA with Pastor/Elder Emory Hagins Officiating. Burial will follow at the Scarboro Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Portal, GA.

Mr. Harrison will lie in state at the church from 11:00AM until the funeral hour. There will also be a viewing after the eulogy.

Pallbearers will be Leon Hagins, James Davis, John Hagins, Domonique Harrison, Cam'Rhen Harrison and Tendai Hagins.
