Kenny Hunter, the second oldest of six children, was called home by God on the early morning of June 13, 2024. Born on August 17, 1969, in Statesboro, Georgia, he was the son of the late James Edward (Elbert) Hunter and Minnie Pearl (Boossie) Hill Hunter.
Kenny was baptized at an early age at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir and served on the usher board.
He graduated from Southeast Bulloch High School in 1989. Throughout his life, Kenny worked at Walmart, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He is remembered for his strong work ethic, caring heart, sense of humor, friendliness, and deep love for his family.
Kenny is preceded in death by his father, James Edward Hunter; mother, Minnie Pearl Hunter; and brother, James Willie Lamar Hunter.
He leaves to cherish his memories four sisters: Deborah Ann Hunter Overstreet (Tony), Daisy Lou Hunter, Melissa Hunter, and Heather Maria Hunter Williams (Fredrick). He is also survived by eleven aunts, nine uncles, five nieces, four nephews, three great-nephews, three great-nieces, and a host of other family and friends.
A public viewing for Mr. Kenny Hunter will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM. The family will receive guests for the family visitation from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Matthew H. Lovett & Son's Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mr. Hunter will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the AGAPE Worship Center. Burial will follow in the Springhead United Methodist Church Cemetery, Sylvania, GA.
Pallbearers will be Cedric Singletary, Samari Jones, Daniel Hunter, Chris Hunter, Kenny Morrell and Shawn Hill
