Jeanette Elise Thomas, a beacon of light and joy in the lives of many, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, at the age of 58 at the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - San Marcos in San Marcos, Texas after a brief illness. She was born on April 10, 1966, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to James W. Thomas, Sr. and Ruby Dell Thomas. Jeanette's life was woven with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Jeanette was a woman who exuded warmth and kindness, leaving a mark on everyone she met. Known for her sense of humor and contagious smile, she had a remarkable ability to lift the spirits of those around her. Whether it was a heartfelt joke or laughter that echoed through a room, her presence brought comfort and joy, making even the toughest days feel a little lighter.
She was preceded in death by her beloved father, James W. Thomas, Sr., whose love and support shaped her into the incredible woman she became. Jeanette is survived by her devoted life partner, Thomas Reese, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Together, they created a bond that was unbreakable, filling their lives with love and laughter.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Cora Timmons. She also leaves behind her siblings: her sister, Carrie Wright, and her brothers James Thomas, Jr., Tyrone Thomas, and Demetrius Thomas. The bond they shared was strong, filled with memories of laughter, support, and unwavering love.
A beloved aunt, Jeanette is also remembered by her three nieces and two nephews. Jeanette will also be remembered by her close extended family. The family holds dear the memories of Jeanette’s infectious laughter and her warmth.
Jeanette lived her life in Statesboro, GA, where she created a home filled with love and happiness. Her legacy will continue through the memories and stories shared by those who knew her, a testament to a life well-lived.

Her life was a beautiful journey, and though she may no longer walk among us, her laughter and love will resonate in our hearts forever. The family will receive visitors Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 5 pm-7 pm at the funeral home.
The funeral service for Ms. Thomas will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 1 pm at Banks Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 1901 Banks Creek Rd.
Portal, Ga. 30450. Elder Joseph Mosley, Pastor/eulogist.
Interment will follow at the Munlin Cemetery, Portal, GA.
Pallbearers will be cousins.
