Matthew H. Lovett & Son’s Funeral Home announces the passing of Mr. Fredrick L. Holloway, age 51 of Statesboro, GA. Mr. Holloway passed away Saturday evening, August 3, 2024, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Fredrick La'Vaughn Holloway was born May 6th, 1973, to Annie L. Holloway and Fredrick (Freddie) Dews. Late Saturday afternoon, August 3, 2024, our one of a kind treasure gained his wings and peacefully entered into eternal rest.
He was born in Patterson, New Jersey and moved to Metter, GA at a very young age. He attended the Candler County school system, and although he didn’t complete his studies you couldn't tell him that he didn't.
Fredrick had past employment with Briggs & Stratton, Pride Manufacturing Co., SRS Roofing, and Stitch & Print Factory before entering his long battle of injury and illness. In spite of becoming disabled, you would never know it because his resilience and stubbornness never allowed him to waiver or give up on living his life to the fullest.
Fred Fred, Double F, 1 Hundred, or Huckabuck as he was affectionately called by many, or as he always referred to himself as THE Mr. Holloway was full of life and jokes all day and all night. He kept everyone laughing even through his pain. He enjoyed telling jokes and making up the most convincing stories. He LOVED music, grass cutting, playing cards, and being a chef in the kitchen to show off his cooking and grill master skills. He adored his family, extended family, and especially his grand kids.
He was preceded in death by his mother Annie Lee, his father Fredrick Dews, and his stepfather James (Bubba) Kilcrease, two uncles Jimmie Ray Holloway and Ricky Raymond Holloway, as well as one aunt Vivian Holloway Pinkston.
Left to cherish his memories is his devoted wife Sonja Mincey Holloway, his six children: Quanshayla Williams, Samyra Williams, Kelly Alexis Holloway, Keanu C. Holloway, Fredrick Holloway Jr., Deontre Mincey, as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; his most beloved sister Sonya Yvette Holloway and half-sister Levita Clarke; his father-in-Law Mr. Gordon Mincey and his late mother-in-law Mrs. Mercille Mincey; two sisters-in-law Lisa (Rev. Stanley) Moore, Tonja (Tony) Gore; two brothers-in-law Gordon (Kim) Mincey Jr., and Craig Mincey; his aunt-in-law Lorine Love; two uncles Jessie Lee Holloway and James Wesley Holloway; two aunts Mamie Holloway and Sherella Joyce; five great aunts Thelma Byrd, Luluwese Tyler, Leola Mercer, Doris Holloway, and Marie Hodge.
Many, many thanks to his extended family at Devita Dialysis Center for the excellent care Fred received while under their care.
