Deidra Melissa Boyd

Deidra Melissa Boyd, age 51, of Savannah, GA, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. She was born February 22, 1972 to her parents, Edith Hutley Boyd and Dowdy Boyd. She was currently residing in Savannah, GA where she worked as a beauty supply associate.

Deidra is survived by her parents, Ms. Edith Hutley Boyd of Statesboro, GA; and her father, Mr. Dowdy Boyd of Twin City, GA; a daughter, Shanekia Boyd (Ishmael Daniels) of Statesboro, GA; three sons, Marcus Boyd of Savannah, GA; Sean Boyd and Ladarrius Boyd, both of Statesboro, GA; eight grandchildren, Ashanti Boyd, Za'Riyah Boyd, Isaiah Boyd, Sekani Boyd, Aubrielle Boyd, George Boyd, Jamya Bing and Shaniyah Boyd; aunts, Lena Brazil of Metter, GA; and Minnie Palmer of Register, GA; Louverta Boyd of Philadelphia, PA; Roberta Boyd of Statesboro, GA; Ella Mae Boyd of Swainsboro, GA; Diane Boyd of Statesboro, GA; Liz Hutley of Millen, GA; and Maggie Tapley of New York; uncles, Willie Tapley of New York and Silas Hutley of Metter, GA; special cousin, niece and nephew, James Cooper of Savannah, GA; Janice and Zeandrew Farrow, Fayettville, NC; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Public visitation for Ms. Boyd will be Friday, March 24, 2023, from 12 Noon to 6:00PM and family visitation from 6:00PM to 8:00PM in the Joanna Holland Fields visitation room at the Matthew H. Lovett & Son’s Funeral Home.

The Funeral Services for Ms. Boyd will be held 11:00AM Saturday, March 25, 2023, at the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Gary Wallace, Pastor/officiating. Interment will follow at the Lakeside First Baptist Church Cemetery in Metter, GA. 

Ms. Boyd will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.

Pallbearers will be Chris Boyd, Bloise Boyd, Jr., Anthony Boyd, Ishmael Daniels, Daryl Scott and Barry Walden

Matthew H. Lovett & Son's Funeral Home is in charge of final arrangements.
