Dale Arthur Cooney

Mr. Dale Arthur Cooney, 76, passed away on January 8, 2025, at his home in Metter, GA. 

A strong, loyal, and faithful man, Dale enjoyed playing Golf, fishing, and watching sports with the Detroit Lions, Pistons & Tigers as well as Michigan football being some of his favorite teams. Dale was a war-time veteran with the US Navy serving during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, spending time with his family, and watching westerns. He was also a dedicated member of the Register Baptist Church in Register, GA.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents the late Clarence Cooney and the late Ida Cooney.

Dale is survived by his loving wife Rebecca Cooney of Metter, GA; his daughters Christine Cooney Gregory of Metter, GA; Mary Cooney of Beaufort, SC; and Grace Cooney of California; his granddaughters Jordan Henry of Statesboro, GA; Miranda Smith of Port Royal, SC; his grandsons Kyler Gregory of Metter, GA; Nelson Gregory of Tuscaloosa, AL; Michael Cooney of Port Wentworth, GA; Sammy Cooney and Matthew Smith of Beaufort, SC; his great-grandsons Kenton Acree, Kaelen Hall, Noah Gregory, Kingston Henry, and a great-granddaughter Delaney Dornier.

Dale's wishes were to be cremated with the family to celebrate his life at the Register Baptist Church in Register, GA at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial donations be made in Dale's name to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
