Mrs. Cherie Sanders Porter, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away on July 8, 2024, in Savannah, GA. She was born on October 18th, 1968, in Lyons, Georgia to her parents Mildred Hailey Harris and Charles Sanders, Sr. Cherie was a member of the Preparing the Way for The Lord Ministries in Glennville, GA where she served as associate minister. She found joy in singing for the Lord, spending time with her husband, children, and church family, and giving a helping hand to those in need. Her warm and kind heart touched the lives of many, and she will be forever missed.
In her professional life, Cherie worked as a General Manager for Hodges Management Company in Savannah, GA for several years. Her commitment to her work and her employees had a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of working alongside her.
Cherie's vibrant personality shone in everything she did, which included cherishing moments spent with family and always planning the next gathering or event to bring loved ones together. Shopping brought her great excitement and joy, but nothing compared to the joy she found in creating memories with those she loved, especially her husband Tracy and two sons, Stacey and Ronald. In 2018, Cherie met the love of her life, Tracy at a Subway in Port Wentworth, GA. Cherie and Tracy dated for about a year and later married on November 11, 2017. Cherie and Tracy enjoyed serving the Lord together as a couple and they both found immense joy in worshipping together every Sunday.
Cherie was preceded in death by two sisters, the late Anita Sanders and Charlene Sanders, a brother Michael Harden, and her grandparents who are all with her in eternal peace.
She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband Tracy Porter, her sons Stacey Sanders and Ronald (Liz) Hughes, a stepson and grandchildren, as well as several brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
