Matthew H. Lovett & Son’s Funeral Home announces the passing of Mr. Antoan Le-nard Ward, age 37, of Statesboro. Mr. Ward passed away Saturday evening, May 4, 2024, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro after a brief illness.
Brother Antoan Le-nard Ward, age 37 was born April 6, 1987, in Savannah, Georgia to the proud parents of Morris M. Ward, Jr., and Lecy Pridgen. He peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elder Edgar C. Brown, Morris, M. Ward, Sr., and Salli Tremble Ward all of Statesboro, Georgia.
He was a graduate of Statesboro High School Class of 2007. As an infant, his parents baptized him in Jesus' name at the Pentecostal Church of God in Statesboro, Georgia, where he was always a member by Faith.
Antoan was a collector of comics and cards from Yu-Gi-Oh to Pokémon. He could always be expected to be at the local comic book store Galactic, where he always had a smile for those in the Pokémon league.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his father, Morris (Wynette) Ward, Jr. of Statesboro GA; his mother Lecy (Oscar) Pridgen of Ellabell, GA; his maternal grandparents Mary (Frank) Pridgen of Ellabell, GA; two brothers Raphael Ward of Ellabell, GA; and Joshua (Sierra) Pridgen of Bloomington, IN; one sister Chirrisse Ward of Ellabell, GA. He also leaves his memories to be cherished, his uncles and aunts, Jamie (Bridget) Brown, Charles (Kim) Brown, Phillip (Liz) Tremble, Anthony (Tammy) Ward, and Chris Brown. Auntie Audrey (Ricardo) Edwards, Wanda (Patrick) Williams, Tonyau (Dexter) Roundtree, Sherryl (Earl) James, and the host of cousins other relatives, and friends.
Public viewing for Mr. Ward will be held Friday, May 10, 2024, from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM with the family receiving guests for Family Visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 at the funeral home.
Funeral services for Mr. Antoan Ward will be held graveside, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the Mt. Zion AME Church Cemetery, 10728 Hwy 24, Statesboro, GA 30461. Evangelist Donnell Harden, officiating, and Elder Antonio Clayton, presiding.
